教学目的、要求
This course will introduce students to the fundamental principles of good academic writing. Our teaching team will use a combination of classic instructive learning and innovative teaching methods, including flipped classroom, in-class group work and peer-reviewing to foster an active approach to learning. The aim of this course is to encourage students to read, write and think in English, with particular focus on problem-solution structures commonly found in the academic literature.
By the end of this course, all students will have a clearidea of the fundamental elements of academic writing, enabling students to continuously improve their analytical thinking skills beyond the timeframe of this course.
Working knowledge of oral and written English is assumed. Active participation throughout the course will be fostered through a participation-based scoring system. The anticipated minimum ratio of in-class hours to homework time will be approx. 1:2.
